Gothic Sepia Story
Gothic Greetings: My name is Venja Hywell Caldwell. I am from Santa Cruz, California. I grew up listening to Gothic Metal like Sabbath, Danzig, Amon Amarth and many more from the 90's to now. I am a Self-Published Author, Graphic Artist, Music Artist, Clothing Designer and Single Father. My college background is in Cultural Anthropology, Exercise Fitness & Science, Business Management, Business Law. As you can see, I love to create things of Gothic Culture. Not long ago, I decided to let go of everything except my son. I let go of everyone I knew, my life, my ex-girlfriend and my moving company. Where I ended up was traveling the nine realms and Midgard only to be faced with myself staring into a mirror within ancient castle walls in Donegal, Ireland. I fought and destroyed many inner dark demons there, only to emerge, embracing my shadow self with inner alchemy. Many esoteric things did I discover and recover. I had kindled a fire within that cold darkness to keep me from reincarnation, and I used it to create a torch light that led me to a new path and calling in life.
That's when I had the vision to create Gothic Sepia and sat down to write its first song and cultural theme for clothing, books, art and merch at 3:00am on November 9th, 2025, on the Oregon Coast overlooking the Ocean in the Moonlight. As a cultural anthropologist, my knowledge of the Goths, Ancient Gothic Vikings and Gothic History is very extensive as I am finishing writing a couple books on Gothic Culture. I do think you will like the things I create, as I create everything myself. All the Books, Music, Art, Designs, Website and social media content etc. are all made by me since I am an Independent Self-Made Artist.
